Movies in the FCP

     At the start of the flat classroom project, one of the first tasks given to the students on the ning, a facebook-like social media website, was to write a paragraph or to to describe their lives (such as the things they liked and how they acted) in order to encourage communication between the many students in the program.

Record Breaker!

     Global Collaboration project sets new high score! The second leg of the 2012 Flat Classroom Project has broken the 225 barrier with a record number of 226 videos.

     For the first time since the debut of this project, every category and subcategory has been filled with at least one video. FCP 12-2 smashes last school year’s record (187) by 38 videos and 2011’s figure (82) by 143 videos. The master lists of final videos were finalized on December 3rd, 2012.

At the end of the 12-2 flat classroom project, students from all the participating schools were asked to submit their own videos with outsourced footage to be judged across a panel of judges. These short films, all with assigned topics that helped guide (but not so much as limit) the subject of the videos. Groups of each category won awards for top 3 videos and there was an overall best video award with several honourable mentions...
